Tasting Notes: Lavender, Jasmine, Pomelo

Andrés Martinez is a biochemical engineer and coffee producer who has already left his mark in the specialty coffee world. He started at Tenicafé Institute in Cauca researching coffee innovation and later landed a role at farm Finca El Pariso heading soil studies and process standardization where he worked alongside well known coffee producer, Diego Samuel Bermúdez. Andres has since started his newest chapter, two coffee farms of his own.

Caturra Floral is grown at one of Andrés’ farms, El Sendero which is 4 hectares in size and cared for by 4 employees. The harvest season is April through May and cultivars such as Geisha, Chiroso, Pink Bourbon, Polisperma, and Caturra are found growing throughout the farm.

The Bugisu region on Mount Elgon in Uganda is where the Sipi Falls Coffee Project is located and this coffee is grown. For the last 25+ years, the project has expanded into 2,000+ hectares (over 4,000 acres) of land with over 5,000 producers working on the land.

This coffee is a blend of Bourbon, Kenya SL14 and Kenya SL28 varieties and was grown at an elevation of 1,300 to 3,000 meters.

A little something for the end of summer. This blend of Guatemala Las Marias and El Salvador Finca Santa Josefita is here to walk you out of summer and into fall.

Tasting notes include festival season, sitting next to a campfire on a crisp September morning, and the leaves starting to change colors. (Plus tobacco, dried cherry, and maple syrup, too).
